Adele has finally confirmed her long-rumored album 25, a follow-up to her massive 2011 hit 21, in a letter she penned for her fans. She posted it on social media on Wednesday morning.

In the open letter, Adele doesn’t give a release date for 25 but she does seem to confirm the title. After reading it, it appears that she will release it sometime this year.

"My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record,” she wrote. “I'm making up with myself. I'm making up for lost time."

She continued on to say that turning age 25 was a “turning point” in her life, giving her much material to work with for this new album. "Even following and breaking rules… is better than making the rules," she wrote.

Since 21, Adele has certainly gone through a lot of life changes. She got engaged to Simon Konecki and they had a son. These factors are likely the reason why she ended the letter with, "I'm sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened."
