The “Piano Man” is set to perform the national anthem ahead of Game 3 of the World Series between the Kansas City Royals and the New York Mets.

A spokesperson for Billy Joel confirmed to Newsday that he will sing the “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Citi Field on Friday before the start of the game.

Just last week the 66-year-old Long Island native sang "Meet the Mets" and gave score updates from Game 4 of the NLCS against the Chicago Cubs during his concert at Madison Square Garden.

Joel sang the national anthem last time the Mets were in the World Series which was against the New York Yankees in 2000 and before that in 1986 against the Boston Red Sox.

Sports Illustrated reminded fans that when he sang both times the Mets lost each of those games.

The Mets currently trail the Royals in the series 1-0. Game 2 will be played tonight at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
