When Jurassic World hit theaters this past summer, one of the biggest topics of conversation was the kind of shoes Bryce Dallas Howard's character wore. Well, if that bothered you, the actress is now assuring fans she'll be better equipped for the jungle in Jurassic World 2.

If you aren't familiar with the controversy, some viewers were annoyed that Claire (Howard) wore heels as she trekked across the island in Jurassic World, with some accusing the film of being misogynistic. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Howard discussed so called "Heelgate" and how the next film will address it.

Howard said that as soon as a sequel was announced, director Colin Trevorrow texted her, "#NoHeels2018," which she was pretty happy about.

"Claire knows to get in there now and her dynamic with the animals has certainly shifted and the woman you see at the end of Jurassic World is very different from the woman see you at the beginning," Howard said.

The actress went on to say that she was actually relieved to hear so many complaints about her character's heels because it showed how sensitive people are to the role of women on screen.

"Even though ultimately what you see in the movie — you realize I wasn't just a function of the plot, or Chris's sidekick or whatever; she is actually the character that goes through the biggest transformation — I did appreciate the fact that people wanted to ensure that it's important for there to be female characters and roles where they do go on a journey and they aren't just a function of the plot," Howard said. "And so that's something that is a really important conversation to continue."

Speaking of continuing, what's going to happen with Claire in Jurassic World 2? Although we still have another three years to go until it hits theaters, Howard confirmed that Claire will be a huge part of the sequel.

"I have talked to Colin, and he feels very strongly about this character continuing to have a significant arc," she told The Huffington Post. "There were some terrible calls she made as the person who runs the park, and the results of that are devastating."

Jurassic World 2 will hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
