Childish Gambino, also known as actor/comedian Donald Glover, has been criticized by fans and even a venue he performed at in Newcastle, Australia on Thursday.

Glover performed - or at least, was supposed to perform - at the Cambridge Hotel. However, according to The Newcastle Herald, a group called Royalty performed instead, with Glover only popping in occasionally during the hour-long performance. When he wasn’t contributing, Glover just sat on the stage silently.

Fans then went to social media to complain and even criticized the venue for marketing the show as a full performance from Glover, notes Entertainment Weekly.

The Cambridge Hotel took to Facebook, where they insisted that they were also told that the show was part of Glover’s tour and should have been a full show. “To everyone who came to see Childish Gambino show last night we are as disappointed as all of you,” the statement read.

“For those that aren’t aware, Canberra and ourselves were 2 additional Childish Gambino shows that were promoted in the exact same way as part of his current tour and we were extremely excited to be presented with this opportunity. Subsequently he didn’t deliver on what was billed and expected by everyone, including us,” the statement continues.

Glover is also an actor, having starred in Community, Magic Mike XXL and this weekend’s The Martian. He released his latest album, Because the Internet, in 2013.
