Hayden Panettiere has checked into a treatment facility for her postpartum depression, which she revealed she was suffering from on Live! With Kelly and Michael last month.
The Nashville star, who became a mom for the first time in December when she welcomed her daughter Kaya Evodokia with fiancé Wladimir Klitschko, has confirmed she’s seeking treatment via her rep on Tuesday.
Her rep told People she “is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression,” adding, “She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time.”
Panettiere’s character on Nashville, Juliette Barnes, is also battling postpartum. The 26-year-old actress said on Live! that she can “very much relate” to Juliette.
She explained at the time, “It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.” She also talked about "a lot of misunderstanding" associated with postpartum.
On Saturday, Panettiere tweeted a photo of herself and wrote, “Feeling like I'm #finally coming back in to my own body! mother #daughter #blessing #wellworthit.”
