The 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced and legendary artists like Janet Jackson and Chaka Khan got nods as well as wildly popular groups N.W.A. and Chicago.
The Associated Press noted that this marks a first-time nomination for eight of the 15 entertainers considered.
Those in the music industry will be casting their votes, but fans can also chime in on the website’s ballot and have those votes counted too.
Fans of Jackson feel they have waited long enough for her nod and are ready for the “Rhythm Nation” singer to be inducted.
As for N.W.A., the rap group’s chances may have increased thanks to the summer Straight Outta Compton blockbuster.
And when it comes to Chaka Khan, many are shocked that the soulful diva is not in there already.
Others nominees on the list include Nine Inch Nails, Deep Purple, Yes, The Cars, Los Lobos, James Brown's famed backup band The J.B.'s, Chic, The Spinners, Cheap Trick and Steve Miller.
