John Goodman showed off a very different appearance at the London premiere of his newest film Trumbo, which also co-stars Helen Mirren, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Bryan Cranston, on Thursday.

Goodman posed for photos on the red carpet and showed off his dramatic weight loss at the BFI London Film Festival. He wore a pinstriped suit and looked much slimmer than usual.

In 2010, Goodman told David Letterman his weight fluctuation each year will be an “ongoing process for the rest of my life." At that time, he had lost over 100 pounds and revealed his peak weight was around 400 pounds, ETOnline reports.

He also previously discussed his doctor's advice to lose weight back in 2005, claiming it was more difficult for him than it was to quit smoking, Yahoo UK reports.

Goodman’s appearance this week is much different than when he promoted The Gambler last year.

Trumbo hits theaters on Nov. 6, and it’s based on the story of screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, who was accused of being a communist, played by Cranston.
