Johnny Depp wants to team up with one of the most successful directors in the past 10 years, Edgar Wright. The two of them want to bring a popular Neil Gaiman novel to life.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that the two will be teaming up to bring Gaiman’s Fortunately, the Milk to the big screen. The film will most likely be a live action and animated blend written by Bret McKenzie. McKenzie is best known for being one half of the musical comedic group, Flight of the Conchords.

Author Gailman also confirmed this news on his twitter account.

Fortunately, the Milk is an odd childrens book which is described as, “a story of time travel and cereal.” The story follows a father who leaves to go to the store for milk and comes back with tales that include odd occurrences involving things such as pirates and aliens.

Depp will star and produce the film along with Animal Logic Entertainment, who also produced The Lego Movie. Zareh Nalbandian will represent Animal Logic Entertainment.
