One Direction was forced to cancel a concert last night after singer Liam Payne came down with a sudden illness. The singer penned an apology, which he posted on Twitter.

Last night’s Belfast show was cancelled because Payne fell “suddenly ill,” according to band rep Simon Jones. The band’s rep wrote today that they will be able to perform tonight and tomorrow night in Belfast. The Tuesday night show was quickly rescheduled for Friday.

“I'm so sorry to everybody I disappointed last night. I'm feeling better now. I really hope everyone can make the rescheduled date on Friday,” Payne tweeted. “Thank you so much for all the trends and lovely messages you guys did for me it really shows how amazing u guys actually are.”

Payne, 22, wrote that he is “feeling much better now.”

Entertainment Weekly notes that the other members of the band tweeted apologies as well. “We’re so so sorry for what happened tonight, it was out of our control! Lots of love to Liam and thank you for being so understanding,” Louis Tomlinson wrote.

This is the first time that the group has actually had to postpone a show because of an illness. They have performed onstage without Tomlinson and have survived without Zayn Malik. They’ve even performed after Niall Horan and Harry Styles suffered foot injuries.

The group recently released the video for the single “Perfect” and they plan on taking a much-needed break from recording and touring after the release of their next album.
