Marvel finally has a director in mind for Thor: Ragnarok, the third solo film starring Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.

TheWrap first reported that Taika Waititi is in talks with the studio. The Hollywood Reporter also reported the news. Marvel has not commented.

Waititi reportedly beat out Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland), Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) and Rawson Marshall Thurber (We’re The Millers) for the job.

Like those other directors, Waititi’s experience comes from a comedy background, as his best known credits are episodes of Flight of the Conchords and the recent vampire comedy What We Do In The Shadows. His other credits include Boy and episodes of The Inbetweeners. He’s also a writer on Disney’s animated feature Moana.

Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for July 28, 2017. The previous Thor films were directed by Kenneth Branagh and Alan Taylor.
