Priscilla Presley is revealing her last conversation she had with Elvis Presley, whom she divorced four years before his 1977 death.
Presley, who married the icon when she was 21 years old, appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show and revealed he assured her he was “fine” just a few days before he suffered a heart attack and died.
“[I was] asking if he was OK and if he was excited about going on tour and he was,” she said, The Mirror reports. “He loved work, but he was dealing with a lot of issues, decisions that he had to make, so it wasn’t easy.”
She admitted she was concerned for him, but he was convinced he was in good health. “He wasn’t someone who you could just say, ‘You need to really take care of yourself...’ It was hard for anyone to do anything because ultimately it was his decision and he felt he was fine,” she continued.
Presley, who shares daughter Lisa Marie Presley with Elvis, said she’s still reeling from his death all these tears later. She said it was “absolutely devastating” when she found out. “I mean still to this day it’s hard to believe.”
She also appeared on HuffPost Live and admitted it was "difficult" to be married to someone in the public eye, "especially at a young age, being a new wife and automatically being a new mother and being in rock and roll. The three really don't mix."
