Reese Witherspoon discusses the possibility of ‘Legally Blonde 3’

Elle Woods could be back on the big screen sooner than you think.

On a recent episode of Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe, Reese Witherspoon talked about the possibility of Legally Blonde 3.

The actress, who portrayed Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde, believes it is time to see what Elle has been up to lately, and a lot of writers agree.

“A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it,” Witherspoon said. “I actually think it’s kind of great right now because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women.”

Witherspoon continued with her own idea about what Ms. Woods would be up to now. She thinks Elle has the potential to be a powerful woman in politics, and maybe even run for president.

“I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice or someone who runs for office.”

When host Rachel Zoe asked for more details about the film, Witherspoon joked, “Call MGM, I have no idea.”

Witherspoon channeled her inner Elle when she taught a Walmart employee how to bend and snap in June.
