Rapper Scarface was honored at the BET Hip Hop Awards on Friday night only to be arrested for unpaid child support immediately after.

ABC News reported that Scarface is currently being held in Fulton County Jail in Atlanta on charges of child support contempt. His bond is being held at $482,190.

The rapper was receiving the "I Am Hip Hop" career achievement award and was cuffed after giving his acceptance speech.

According to Billboard, Scarface is still in custody as of Sunday morning, and both his reps and the Fulton County's Sheriff's office have yet to comment. Scarface is well respected in the hip hop community, being referred to as "one of the best storytellers" by rapper/actor Ludacris and was credited by rapper Rick Ross as someone who "helped build a culture."

Scarface was a pioneer of hip hop, first emerging back in the late '80s with the group Geto Boys. He is best known for songs such as "Smile," "My Block," and "I Seen a Man Die" and has put out 12 albums in his long career working with hip hop royalty such as Jay-Z and 2Pac during that time.

The rapper was arrested for failing to pay child support back in 2010 as well. The annual BET Hip Hop awards will be televised on Oct. 13.
