Tracy Morgan performed at the Comedy Cellar in New York City last night, marking his first stand-up performance since his car crash in June 2014. It’s his latest warm-up before he hosts Saturday Night Live this weekend.
Morgan posted a picture of himself at the Comedy Cellar on Twitter, writing “My first time on stage in 16 months at the #ComedyCellar! Picking up the pieces!”
He also performed at another NYC club, The Stand, which celebrated Morgan's return on Instagram. "It is an absolute pleasure and an honor to welcome back the great Tracy Morgan!" the club's team wrote.
The former 30 Rock star has been slowly re-entering the public eye during the past few weeks. He made a surprise appearance at the Emmys in September and even joined the movie Fist Fight with Ice Cube, Charlie Day and Christina Hendricks. He also married Megan Wolloever in August. The two share a two-year-old daughter.
In June 2014, Morgan was involved in a deadly car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, which killed his longtime friend and fellow comedian James McNair.
Morgan will host SNL on Saturday night on NBC.
