Activision Blizzard Inc. decided to celebrate its good financial results for the third quarter of 2015 by buying King Digital Entertainment for a whopping $5.9 billion. King Digital is the developer behind the insanely addicting Candy Crush games.

Activision Blizzard announced that it had better results than it expected on Thursday, with net revenues in the third quarter reaching $990 million. That’s up from $753 million in the same quarter and much better than the $875 million net revenues predicted.

“With a combined global network of more than half a billion monthly active users, our potential to reach audiences around the world on the device of their choosing enables us to deliver great games to even bigger audiences than ever before,” Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said in a statement announcing the acquisition.

Kotick added that Activision Blizzard can provide King with “experience, support and investment to continue to build on their tremendous legacy and reach new potential.”

Activision already has one of the most popular and best-selling console games in the world, Call of Duty. Now the company can add Candy Crush, one of the most popular mobile games. King’s other games include Diamond Digger Saga and Pet Rescue Saga.
