It’s official. Adele’s 25 now holds the record for the biggest sales week in the music industry since 1991. It took her just four days to break the previous record, held by *NSYNC.

Nielsen Music numbers show that 25 passed at least 2,433,000 copies between Friday and Monday. As Billboard notes, that’s just ahead of *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached, which sold 2,416,000 copies during the week that ended on March 26, 2000.

25 has the best sales week since 1991, when Nielsen began tracking music sales. Billboard reports that analysts expect the album to hit 2.9 million copies by the end of the week.

The new album is Adele’s third and first since 2011’s 21, which made her an international superstar. 25 already has a hit single with “Hello,” and “When We Were Young” has also been released as a single. You can check out our review right here.

By the way, the current No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart is Justin Bieber's Purpose, which sold 522,000 copies in its first week. Obviously, 25 will be the No. 1 album on next week's chart.
