It’s been more than 20 years since Alanis Morissette released the iconic Jagged Little Pill album. The CD boasted a bunch of hits for the artist including “You Oughta Know,” “Hand In My Pocket” and “Ironic.” So when she appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden earlier this week, the host decided that it may be a good idea for Ms. Morissette to update some of those older lyrics. The result was a hilarious duet.
Morissette and Corden incorporated social media references of Facebook and Twitter into the song as well as a few other of today's staples that didn’t exist in 1995 such as Netflix, Amazon and iPhones.
“Ironic” was the third hit off the Canadian singer’s debut album, which sold over 30 million copies worldwide. And as the Guardian noted, ranked her as one of the best-selling female artists of the decade.
