An alternate ending to Titanic has surfaced, which was originally uploaded to YouTube in 2011, showing how the beloved film could’ve ended.
In this version, the older Rose is caught by her granddaughter (Suzy Amis) and Brock Lovett (played by Bill Paxton) when she goes to throw the diamond off the ship. They rush to her to try and convince her not to throw it, but she somehow convinces Brock – who has made it his mission to find the rare diamond for years – that it’s a good idea.
Her reasoning is that she didn’t need it to make a life without her ex-fiance Cal, and used Jack Dawson’s (Leonardo DiCaprio) line to keep his memory alive.
“You look for treasure in the wrong place, Mr. Lovett. Only life is priceless. And making each day count,” Rose tells him.
“I’ve come all the way here to put it back where it belongs,” she also said before throwing it back in ocean.
One reason we’re happy it didn’t end this way is because one of the ship’s crew members yells, “That really sucks, lady!” after she throws it in.
