A bride in New Jersey got a major surprise on her big day when Italian classical tenor Andrea Bocelli walked into the church and sang for the couple.

Bocelli, along with the groom, Ales Dolinar, and Good Morning America worked to keep the secret from Michele Walsh on their wedding day. Walsh’s mother and the priest were the only other people in on the surprise.

“Keeping the secret was probably the worst part about getting married right now,” Dolinar said.

The international star traveled all the way to Mahwah in Garden State last month and walked into the church at the end of the ceremony and serenaded the delighted bride with a song.

"As soon as I heard his voice, there’s no mistaking who that is and I was just shocked and surprised," Walsh said. "I think I’m still in awe. It was amazing.”

Bocelli told GMA that he likes to do surprises such as this one. Just last year the 57-year-old recording artist surprised Kim Kardashian when he sang “Ave Maria” at her wedding to Kanye West.

And for Walsh, Bocelli certainly made her day as wonderful as it could be.

“It was the best wedding ever," she gushed.
