At least six of Charlie Sheen’s former lovers are suing the actor after he publicly admitted to being HIV-positive on Tuesday, claiming he failed to tell them about his diagnosis before engaging in sexual relationships with them.
In his sit-down with Today’s Matt Lauer, Sheen said that he had told every woman he has had sexual relations with in the past four years about his condition beforehand.
But six women have now banded together to sue Sheen for charges of fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, sexual battery and negligent transmission of a sexually transmitted disease.
Their lawyer told Daily News, "What he did was not only civilly actionable but probably criminal too,” adding these women don’t want their names to go public because they “don't want their parents to know and don't want to be labeled as having been exposed."
In statement to Today, Sheen claimed when it comes to sexual partners, “I always lead with condoms and honesty.”
