Sorry Hocus Pocus fans, but the only time you’re going to see the Sanderson sisters in action is in the 1993 Halloween classic.
During a Facebook Q&A on Nov. 17, Bette Midler revealed that there is not going to a sequel.
“After all these years and all the fan demand, I do believe I can stand and firmly say an unequivocal no,” Midler wrote to a fan who asked about Hocus Pocus 2.
Hocus Pocus, which stars Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, has become a fan favorite and airs repeatedly on ABC Family during the month of October.
Rumors that there was going to be a sequel started when Midler expressed interest in November 2014.
“You have to go to send in your cards to the Walt Disney company,” she said at the time. “The ball’s in their court.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Midler joked on Twitter that the sequel was just postponed because Disney is “having trouble finding a virgin” in October.
While Midler has not reunited with Parker or Najimy recently, other stars of the film got together on Halloween. Vinessa Shaw, who played Allison, saw her costars Omri Katz and Thonra Birch, who played Max and Dani, respectively on Oct. 31.
