Blake Shelton can add “hero” to his long list of accomplishments.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the country singer helped a group of young men stuck in a mudslide in Oklahoma on Nov. 13. Bryar Blanton, Lenyell Blanton, Josh Turner and Adrian Poplin opened up about Shelton’s help at the Washita River to ET.
“Me and my buddies were checking out the river, when some of my buddies [accidentally] slid into a big mud hole and got stuck for about two hours," Blanton said. "Me and Adrian started walking down the road [looking for help] and [that's when] Blake and his dog, Betty, stopped and picked us up in his truck."
Naturally, the group was surprised to find Shelton, but pleased when he tried to help them pull their friends out of the river with his truck. When that did not work, he left and returned with his tractor, which was successful.
Later on, Bryar took to social media to thank Shelton, and post a picture with the country star.
"Just wanna thank you for helping us yesterday man,” he wrote.
Shelton responded, "No problem.. Now you boys stay outta jail!!! Ha!!!"
Bryar told E! News that Shelton is a “hero.”
Shelton recently made headlines for new developments in his love life. He is currently dating Gwen Stefani.
