Cate Blanchett might be in the midst of another awards season that could end in an Oscar win, but the actress is already in talks for another part. She’s reportedly in talks for Annapurna Pictures’ adaptation of Where’d You Go, Bernadette, which Richard Linklater is set to direct.

Linklater has been linked to the project since February and it will be produced by Annapurna's Megan Ellison and Color Force’s Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson.

Bernadette is about an architect who goes missing before her family is supposed to go to Antarctica. The Maria Semple bestseller is told from the perspective of Bernadette’s teenage daughter. Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter (Paper Towns, The Fault In Our Stars) wrote the script.

TheWrap was first to report that Blanchett is in talks to star in the film. The Tracking Board also reported the news.

Blanchett is expected to be in the running for an Oscar again thanks to her performance in Todd Haynes’ acclaimed Carol. She also starred in Truth and Cinderella this year. The two-time Oscar winner is also reportedly in talks to play Lucille Ball in an Aaron Sorkin-written biopic.
