ABC announced today that Celine Dion has been recruited to perform a special tribute to Paris and the victims of the terrorist attacks there last week during the 2015 American Music Awards.
The French-Canadian singer will perform Edith Piaf’s “Hymne a L’Amour” in French during the ceremony this weekend.
“We felt it was important to show our solidarity in light of the recent events in Paris and all around world,” show producer Larry Klein said in a statement. “Celine’s performance will help us express our feelings through song when words do not suffice.”
The American Music Awards, which is produced by Dick Clark Productions, will air on ABC Sunday, starting at 8 p.m. Jennifer Lopez is hosting and is set to perform. Other performers for the night include Ariana Grande; Macklemore & Ryan Lewis; One direction; Gwen Stefani; Selena Gomez; Justin Bieber; Pentatonix; Walk The Moon; Meghan Trainor; and Luke Bryan & Karen Fairchild.
