Crayola might be the most famous name in coloring, but the company was a bit behind on the surprising adult coloring books trend that has exploded in recent months. They have fixed that though, launching their own line this week.
The company has started Color Escapes, a line of “premium coloring kits specially designed for adults.” The packs include 12 11” X 17”coloring pages, 50 colored pencils and 12 fine line markers. Each themed pack costs $24.99. The currently available themes are Garden, Nature, Kaleidoscopes and Geometric.
According to Gizmodo, the original black and white illustrations were done by Claudia Nice. Terry Runyan, Flora Chang and other Hallmark artists contributed to four coloring books that will also be available in case you don’t need more coloring utensils.
Adult coloring books have been marketed towards anyone looking for a new relaxing activity. Crayola calls them “escapes,” while BlueStar Coloring is offering “stress relieving patterns.” There are also intricate Harry Potter and Outlander coloring books available.
