Singer and actress Demi Lovato is being accused of sampling songs without permission by the indie pop group Sleigh Bells.
The band claims that Lovato sampled their songs "Riot" and "Infinity Guitars" for her song "Stars," according to the New York Daily News.
The former Disney star's producers, Carl Falk and Rami, has responded, calling the allegations wrong. "We did not use any samples in Demi Lovato’s song ‘Stars,'" they told Entertainment Weekly, adding that Lovato was not involved in the production of the song and only wrote "top line."
"Stars" appears on Lovato's recently released album Confident, which has generated a lot of buzz for the 23-year old.
Sleigh Bells addressed Lovato on social media by tweeting, "Demi Lovato flattered you guys sampled Infinity Guitars & Riot Rhythm for “Stars” but we were not contacted. Gotta clear those." Lovato has yet to respond to the accusations.
Lovato also previously upset Katy Perry fans, who claimed she created a knockoff of Perry's hit "I Kissed A girl" with her song "Cool for the Summer."
