The Walt Disney Studio posted the first teaser for Alice Through The Looking Glass, the long-awaited sequel to 2010’s Alice in Wonderland. It’s the first footage seen from the new film, which is supposed to be out in May.
The 10-second teaser was posted on Twitter to tie-in with switching clocks back an hour. It only shows Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska again, falling through a door and into Wonderland.
Disney previously released teaser posters in August at the D23 convention in Anaheim. Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Matt Lucas are all returning, while Rhys Ifans, Sacha Baron Cohen and Ed Speleers have joined.
James Bobbin (The Muppets) has taken over for Tim Burton as director. The script was written by Linda Wolverton (Maleficent) and is based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice stories.
Alice In Wonderland was the first film in Disney’s ongoing series of live-action remakes of their animated classics and grossed $1 billion worldwide. It even won Oscars for its art direction and costume design, so Alice Through The Looking Glass has a lot to live up to.
The sequel opens on May 27, 2016.
