The E.coli outbreak linked to Chipotle that caused nearly two dozen cases of the infection in Washington and Oregon has now spread to four more states.

According to the FDA, the four additional states include California, Minnesota, New York and Ohio.  They have reported cases of E.coli and while most of these were found in Washington and Oregon, the total number of people infected has risen to 45.

The FDA notes that all restaurants previously closed in Washington and Oregon were cleared by health officials and have been reopened.

A spokesperson for the Mexican grill told People the chain will not be closing any more locations, "At the moment, we do not believe that it is necessary to close any restaurants because of the timing of the visits. While the incidents are newly reported, they aren't really new in that exposure would was weeks ago," he said.

The FDA is currently working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local officials to locate the exact food that caused the outbreak.
