Ed Sheeran is making a cameo role in the upcoming Bridget Jones sequel, Bridget Jones’ Baby.

Sheeran posted a picture on Instagram of himself and Renee Zellweger on set. "Spent the day being an actor in the new Bridget Jones movie. Loved it, you're gonna love it too," wrote Sheeran.

"The A Team" singer became close with the cast and crew of the film when he allowed them to attend and film one of his concerts at Croke Park in Dublin. A source told The Sun that Sheeran just wanted to be a part of the project and wasn't intimated to be working along side award winning actress Zellweger. It was first reported in August that Sheeran would appear in the movie.

"Ed was really keen to be part of the movie after granting access to film at his gig," a source told The Sun. "He's got experience playing himself in ‘Home And Away’ and is not daunted by the prospect of starring alongside Renee."

As previously reported, Bridget Jones's Baby will be released on Sept. 16, 2016. The film will also star Colin Firth and Patrick Dempsey, but Jones veteran Hugh Grant will not be reprising his role for the sequel.  Sharon Maguire, who directed the first film, Bridget Jones's Diary, is directing.
