The first photos of cast members from Fox’s first musical broadcast are here. It’s clear that Grease Live! will owe a lot to the classic Olivia Newton-John/John Travolta movie.
Grease was announced in April 2014. The main cast includes Julianne Hough as Sandy, Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo and Aaron Tveit as Danny.
The show is produced by Paramount Television, with Marc Platt (Into The Woods) as executive producer. Thomas Kail (2 Broke Girls) is directing.
Grease Live! will air Sunday, Jan. 31 on Fox. It is the network’s first live musical event, and follows NBC’s own attempts. NBC’s third live show, The Wiz Live! airs on Dec. 3.
