Katherine Timpf, Fox News contributor, isn't backing down from statements she made during a segment on Red Eye w/ Tom Shillue regarding the 'Star Wars' franchise.

The Fox News contributor said that despite receiving death threats, she will not apologize for her right to free speech. Her full statement will be released on The National Review.

"A lot of people are clearly a lot of upset. But guess what? I’m not apologizing. Why? Because the all-too-common knee-jerk reaction of apologizing for harmless jokes after overblown hysteria is ruining our culture. This political-correctness obsession threatens free speech, and I absolutely refuse to be a part of it," said Timpf.

A few comments in particular during the show set off Star Wars fans on the Internet. "I have never had any interest in watching space nerds poke each other with their little space nerd sticks, and I’m not going to start now. You people are crazy," was one statement made by Timpf during the segment. Along with, "You Star Wars people are crazy. Yesterday I tweeted something, and all I said was that I wasn’t familiar with Star Wars because I’ve been too busy liking cool things and being attractive — people threatened my life."

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' will be released on Dec. 18 and has already grossed 50 million in pre-sale tickets.
