H&M will be closing all of their U.S. stores on Thanksgiving Day this year for the first time, the Swedish retailer announced on Monday.
Daniel Kulle, president of H&M North America, said in a statement the closings will allow employees to spend time with their loved ones on the holiday.
“H&M would like to show our appreciation to our employees for their hard work year round, so in the tradition of Thanksgiving, H&M will close our U.S. stores on Thanksgiving Day, allowing our store teams to enjoy this time with their families and friends,” Kulle said, Huffington Post reports.
H&M joins a long list of other retailers who vow to close their doors in order for their employees to enjoy the day off. However, Target is not included on that list.
CNN Money reports Target, who recently announced they’re closing 13 locations across the U.S., will open their doors at 6pm on Thanksgiving.
