Last weekend Holly Holm surprised the UFC world by upsetting Ronda Rousey to become the new Women's Bantamweight champion. Thursday she sat with Larry King and talked about the fight and revealed what she said to Rousey after the bout ended.
"I just said, 'You know I really admire you for being such a great, dominant champion. None of us would be here without you, so I appreciate you,'" she told King.
Instead of kicking her while she was down, Holm has stayed classy when discussing the fight and Rousey, despite what appeared to be a little bad blood between the two. Rousey refused to touch gloves with Holm at the start of their match, and the two got into a heated exchange during the official weigh in.
She also told King she had nothing against Rousey stating, "it's a high emotion sport," going on to state, "I think she's done great for the sport, because she's so passionate about what she does and carries this confidence about her. Everybody has their own ways of dealing with their emotions in the sport."
Holm defeated Rousey with a knockout in the second round. Rousey has since been put on a six-month medical suspension.
