When Teresa Giudice gets out of jail next month she will have one less thing to worry about. Her New Jersey mansion she shares with husband, Joe Giudice, and their four daughters is now officially out of foreclosure.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star will be released just in time for Christmas, on Dec. 23. Her lawyer, James J. Leonard Jr., confirms the Giudices are now up to date on their mortgage payments and they’re no longer facing foreclosure.
"Like a lot of people, the Giudices had fallen behind on their mortgage payments, which then puts the home into foreclosure as a way to protect the bank," Leonard told People. "Fortunately, they were able to pay back the money owed in full and the home is no longer under the threat of foreclosure."
Leonard went on to say it was “never an option” to lose their family home, which they built from the ground up. They did previously put the home on the market and were forced to lower the price a few times.
Their lawyer also said his client made it "very clear to me” that they wouldn’t lose the home. "There was no way we were going to let that happen,” he said.
Joe Giudice will begin his 41-month sentence in March, so the family will be able to spend the holidays together. However, when he gets out of jail he's faced with the possibility of deportation back to Italy.
"This is the family home where they have raised their daughters," Leonard continued. "There is a lot of sentimental value there for Joe and Teresa, who are thrilled and relieved that they get to stay in the house."
Teresa's prison memoir Turning The Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again will be released next year.
