The last time Johnny Depp lent his voice to an animated role, the movie made $245.7 million. Now, Depp will return to the animated genre once again with Sherlock Gnomes.

According to Deadline, Depp will star in the upcoming Sherlock Gnomes. The movie is a sequel to the Elton John and Rocket Pictures hit Gnomeo and Juliet. James McAvoy will return as Gnomeo and Emily Blunt as Juliet.

The original film brought in over $200 million in the box office, and as of now, no other cast members have been signed on to return other than McAvoy and Blunt.

The sequel is about the disappearance of a slew of gnomes. Our concerned heroes, Gnomeo and Juliet, call in the legendary Sherlock Gnomes to work the mystery, Entertainment Weekly reported. Depp’s role in the film is not set in stone yet, but it can be assumed the Oscar-nominee will be a big factor.

Sherlock Gnomes will be directed by John Stevenson, who directed Kung Fu Panda, and written by Ben Zazove and is planned for a Jan. 12, 2018 release.
