Madonna is trying to find the words to describe the indescribable.
The singer took a break from her usual concert set at a show in Stockholm, Sweden to talk about the Paris attacks, according to Rolling Stone. There are currently 129 people dead and over 200 still in the hospital since the Nov. 13 attack.
"It's been really hard actually to get through the show, because in many ways, I feel torn,” the singer explained. “ Like, why am I up here dancing and having fun when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones?”
Madonna continued to talk about the attack for six minutes, and addressed the terrorists that are accused of this horrific event.
“However, that is exactly what these people want us to do. They want to shut us up. They want to silence us. And we won't let them," Madonna said.
Madonna continued her set, which included an acoustic version of “Like A Prayer,” after a moment of silence for Paris.
“So, here's what I know how to do, and I hope you will all join me, and we will all sing this prayer together," Madonna said to the crowd before she started to sing and after she wiped her tears.
Other artists like the Foo Fighters cancelled their European tour after the attacks, and U2 postponed both of their shows in Paris.
