Grammy Award-winning singer P!nk has just been appointed the newest ambassador for the United Nations Children's Fund.
The recording artist announced the news during an appearance on Good Morning America Monday.
"I’ve always wanted to work with UNICEF," she shared. “It’s the one organization over the last 15 years just consistently been in mind for all the amazing things that they do and timing is everything and it worked out."
P!nk also talked about what is was like, now that she is a mother, having traveled to Haiti with the organization last summer and seeing so many malnourished children in the country.
“It’s devastating to know that children are suffering because they don’t have adequate nutrition,” she said. “All children should be able to grow up strong and healthy, with the opportunity to reach their full potential."
The singer will use her voice and platform, to urge families in the U.S. to get involved with UNICEF Kid Power by wearing a band with which children can go on missions to learn about new cultures and earn points. The funds will go to care and food packages for those in need.
