Rose McGowan is defending herself after her comments about Caitlyn Jenner went viral.

McGowan wrote an open letter about Jenner’s acceptance speech at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards earlier this week, and is clarifying comments she made on Twitter.

“Let me take this moment to point out that I am not, nor will I ever be, transphobic,” she said. “The idea is laughable. Disliking something a trans person has said is not different than disliking something a man has said or a woman has said. Being trends doesn’t make one immune from criticism.”

McGowan did not like Jenner saying that the “hardest part about being a woman is figuring out what to wear” during her Glamour speech.

“Caitlyn Jenner you do not understand what being a woman is about at all,” McGowan wrote in her original post. “You want to be a woman and stand with us- well learn us.”

McGowan also made it clear that she is not against Jenner, and would actually be willing to work with her.

“I’d be thrilled  to fight alongside Caitlyn Jenner. I just want her to know there is a monumental fight to be had,” McGowan wrote.
