Rosie O’Donnell is responding to an interview her estranged daughter, Chelsea, 18, gave recently, during which she said she doesn’t love her.

At her 12th annual Theater Kids' Gala Celebration on Monday, O’Donnell told ET Chelsea is in a “crisis” but it’s “not new” to the family. Her other three kids; Parker, 20, Blake, 16 and Vivienne, 13, were with her at the gala.

"It's new for the public to know about it. But it's not new for a challenge in our family,” she explained. “For over a decade, we've all been invested in trying to find the right kind of safety net, for Chelsea to feel all the love that life has to offer. I'm hoping that one day, she realizes and when she does fall, we will catch her regardless."

The former View co-host also said of Chelsea, who she reported missing over the summer after Chelsea claims she got kicked out of the house, that the family “misses” her.

"I have a daughter who's in a crisis," she said. "Any mother or father who's ever had a child in crisis, they know it's upsetting until your child is once again safely on the shore and not in [the] rapids. Sadly, right now, Chelsea seems to be in the rapids and her family loves her and misses her."

Chelsea spoke to Inside Edition recently and said she’s living with friends in New York and doesn’t want a relationship with O’Donnell ever again.

"I care about her and I hope she’s doing well,” she said. “But love is a big word and I wouldn’t really use that."
