Now that Harrison Ford is suddenly enjoying his relationship with Star Wars, he’s popping up everywhere. After surprisingly taking part in a charity campaign video, he was actually at the American Music Awards last night.
In another example of Disney’s corporate synergy experts hard at work, yet another clip from The Force Awakens aired during the broadcast. It was an actual scene from the film, showing Finn (John Boyega), Rey (Daisy Ridley) and BB-8 on the run from TIE Fighters.
After that, Ford came on the stage to introduce a capella group Pentatonix, which performed a medley of John William’s music from the Star Wars saga. They even wore Star Wars-themed outfits.
This appearance from Ford came just days after Disney launched a new Omaze campaign, featuring the veteran actor making surprise video calls with Star Wars fans. Disney is asking fans to make donations to a group of 15 charities picked by The Force Awakens’ stars. Fans can then enter to win a trip to the film’s London or Los Angeles premieres.
