The Starbucks holiday cups are angering some customers this holiday season, with some taking to social media to air their grievances.

The hashtag #MerryChristmasStarbucks has been created to express frustration that the cups are plain red, without the reindeer or any other festive symbols from years’ past. Former pastor, Joshua Feuerstein, from Arizona has started the viral campaign to shame Starbucks for the design, which they rolled out on Nov. 1.

According to Today, in retaliation, Feuerstein has taken to social media to ask everyone to cite their name as “Merry Christmas” so that the baristas writes it on the cups, to get some tradition back.

“Instead of simply boycotting, why don’t we just start a movement?” he asked in a video he posted to Facebook, which has since gone viral.

He captioned the video, "Starbucks REMOVED CHRISTMAS from their cups because they hate Jesus ... SO I PRANKED THEM ... and they HATE IT!!!! ‪#‎share‬ Use ‪#‎MERRYCHRISTMASSTARBUCKS‬."
