Lionsgate has decided to change their plans following the Paris attacks.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the stars of Mockingjay Part 2, including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, will not do red carpet interviews at the Los Angeles premiere of their film on Nov. 16 because of the Paris attacks that left 129 people dead.
“Out of respect for the very recent events in Paris, we have decided to modify our red carpet and we will not conduct interviews at Monday’s Mockingjay 2 premiere,” a representative from Lionsgate said in a statement to EW. “We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion.”
Lawrence opened up about the film franchise and saying goodbye to her character Katinss last month.
“This character is overwhelmingly supportive of women, obviously, and this iconic [role], I don’t feel a personal impact, I think if you ever become aware of that it takes away from that a little bit, it’s the movie, and the characters… it’s kind of like your avatar self,” Lawrence said.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, hits theaters on Nov. 20.
