Adriana Campos, 36, a popular Telenovela Colombian actress died in a car crash.

According to the Latin Times, Campos was killed in a car accident Tuesday. The Vecinos actress was in the car with her husband, Carlos Rincón, driving through Colombia when the accident occurred.

Reports say that the couple was driving southwest of Colombia's Department of Antioquia when the vehicle lost control and went into the Cauca River.

Campos had been nominated twice for the Premios TV y Novelas awards. Her first nomination was Best Supporting Actress for her work in Vecinos and her second was for Best Antagonist in Bella Calamidades.

New reports have surfaced that speculate the cause of Rincón losing control of the car.

According to El Tiempo, the first theory is that Rincón dozed off which resulted in him losing control and plunging into the Cauca River.

"When he woke up, it was too late to control the car," said major Andrés Gómez, of Seccional de Tránsito y Transporte de Antioquia to the publication.

Gómez also believes that a second theory might have been a possible mechanical complication. Many speculate that the couple died from drowning, but other publications report that the couple died from severe fractures.

Campos, who has worked in novelas, television, film and theater that has spanned over 15 years, will be taken to Bogotá to be buried and Rincón will be buried in Campos de Paz.

Ricón and Campos were married in 2014 and are survived by their one-year-old son.
