The music producer behind the hit show Empire and countless musical acts, has said that he and Justin Timberlake may dip into the country genre for an upcoming album.

Timbaland appeared on TMZ Live and when the discussion turned to JT’s recent performance on the CMA’s, the producer was asked if he would venture away from the R&B, rap and pop world to do a country album with Timberlake.

"We are country. He’s from Tennessee and I’m from Virginia. We were raised in the country,” said Timbaland, whose real name is Timothy Mosley. "I gotta tap into country. I’m already posted up in Nashville. I don’t discriminate against any genres. I love it all."

That’s true about Timberlake, he is from Tennessee and just last month was honored at the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. If that’s not enough, his “Drink You Away” duet with Chris Stapleton was the performance of the night during country’s biggest night.
