Warcraft might be the most popular MMORPG ever created and Universal Pictures is about to find out if that popularity will translate to the cinema. Universal and Legendary released the first official trailer for the long- awaited film adaptation.
In the trailer, we see the human world of Azeroth coming under attack from an army of Orcs. There is one particular Orc who thinks that humans and Orcs should come together in an effort to stop the Orcs’ constant state of warfare. However, many of the humans aren’t so sure, but unfortunately, the Orcs have no real home to go to.
The film was written by Charles Leavitt and Duncan Jones, who also directed. Jones shot to fame with his indie sci-fi film Moon and also helmed Jake Gyllenhaal in Source Code. The cast features Ben Forster, Paula Patton, Travis Fimmel, Dominic Cooper and Toby Kebbell.
Warcraft hits theaters on June 10, 2016. Hopefully for Legendary and Universal, it doesn’t flop like recent fantasy movies like Seventh Son or The Last Witch Hunter.
