Even though he’s still busy making movies, Will Smith has found the time to resume his music career. And you can’t have a successful music career without touring, so that’s exactly what he’s going to do.
While on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, Smith said that he is definitely ready to tour again. He plans on hitting the road with DJ Jazzy Jeff, who he recorded with from 1986 through 1993, notes Entertainment Weekly. Smith said that he never had a chance to tour with Jeff before, so he’s really excited.
Ellen DeGeneres asked Smith if he was going to perform his big hits and new material.
“I keep a stash,” Smith told her. “I have a couple of new things.”
DeGeneres said she’s really excited about it and his fans probably are as well. There’s no details on when the tour will start, but Smith will probably want to have a new record out to promote.
Smith has slowly been getting his feet wet in the music world once again and picked a surprising venue. He recorded a rap for the Colombian group Bomba Estereo on their single “Fiesta” and will perform with them at the Latin Grammys on Nov. 19.
The actor also has Concussion coming out on Christmas Day and stars in Suicide Squad, which opens on Aug. 5, 2016.
