The Beatles are officially joining the streaming revolution. The Fab Four’s main 13 albums will be available for streaming on Christmas Eve.
Late last week, Billboard reported that the most famous Rock group in the world will have their music available to stream as a Christmas present. A video was posted on the official Beatles YouTube page to make the plans official.
Surprisingly, the group did not secure an exclusive deal with one particular streaming service. All of their albums will be available on Apple Music, Deezer, Google Play, Microsoft Groove, Napster/Rhapsody, Amazon Prime Music, Slacker Radio, Spotify and Tidal. The music will go live on Thursday at 12:01 a.m.
It is a bit ironic that while The Beatles are joining streaming services, some current artists have decided against it. This week, Adele explained to Time Magazine that she wants the release of a new album to feel like an event, which is why 25 isn’t immediately available to stream.
“I buy my music,” she told the magazine. “I download it, and I buy a physical [copy] just to make up for the fact that someone else somewhere isn’t. It’s a bit disposable, streaming.”
Here’s the list of Beatles albums that will be available to stream.
