The Beatles are about to reach what’s possibly the final frontier of the music business: streaming. The group’s music will reportedly finally be available on streaming services starting on Christmas Eve.

Sources told Billboard that the Beatles will be available to stream on Dec. 24, but the site could not report which platforms specifically. Spotify and Rhapsody wouldn’t comment, while Apple and Tidal did not respond to Billboard’s request for a comment.

It’s not surprising that it has taken this long to reach music streaming services. After all, the group waited 22 years to remaster their music on CD and it wasn’t until 2010 that they finally reached iTunes.

While the Beatles could be joining streaming platforms, many current artists have begun rallying against them. Taylor Swift famously pulled her music from Spotify and Adele’s 25 was not immediately available on streaming platforms.

Streaming won’t replace owning physical copies of the Beatles’ music, but it will at least help introduce their music to younger listeners.
