Chris Carney, who appeared on the MTV reality show twentyfourseven and was the husband of former Disney Channel star Tiffany Thornton, died in a car crash in Arkansas on Friday. He was 35 years old.

According to KTHV, Carney was involved in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 70 East early this morning. State police were called to the scene at 1:40 a.m.

Carney was the passenger. The driver, Ezekiel Blanton, 37, also died. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. They are the 11th and 12th people to die at that point of the highway since November 2014.

Carney was the son of Hot Springs, Arkansas Mayor Ruth Carney. As Variety notes, he starred on twentyfourseven in 2006. He was also the lead singer of the band The Prom Kings, and his reality show was about his move to Los Angeles with his younger brother.

He was married to Thornton, 29, a former Disney channel star on Sonny With A Chance. She is now a radio personality in Hot Springs. They have two children.
