While one man in red gave out Christmas presents overnight, another man in red shot up goons, sliced up villains and delivered a steady stream of profanity. As promised, 20th Century Fox released a new red-band trailer for Deadpool on Christmas Day.
The new trailer includes plenty of footage not seen before, starting with Mr. Pool getting comfortable in a taxi before explaining that he has people on his naughty list. He then tells us how he came to be Deadpool and promises us that this is a very different kind of superhero movie.
Ryan Reynolds stars as Wade Wilson, who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. When he learns about a life-saving treatment that could also give him incredible abilities, he signs up. However, this gets his girlfriend, Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin), in danger. Vanessa is no damsel in distress though.
Deadpool also gets some help from Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), along with his friend Weasel (T.J. Miller).
Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller and was written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The character is a member of the Marvel X-Men franchise.
